Logitech Remote (1 Viewer)

I am looking at getting a remote and am considering the following logitech universal remote.

Logitech Harmony Universal Remote Control 966208-0403 at TigerDirect.com

The compatibility search engine they have says it will work with a mce computer, but i have a few questions.

Does the mce remote need a special receiver or can i use the built in one. MY hp laptop has a built in ir ports.

Has anyone gotten a logitech universal remote working with the mce plugin.

What is the recommended remote by the community at this point.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I have the Harmony 555 working with MediaPortal selecting MCE as remote, but you will probably need an MCE receiver (I have the one from Microsoft). I don't know if the remote included with some HP laptops is compatible with this plugin.
If you are going to buy a remote only for your computer you should buy the one from Microsoft. It's the safer option because it works with most of the programs.
