Looking to buy a DVB-S2 card any of them supported ?

Hi I have two question’s.

I am looking to buy a DVB-S2 sat card, are there any card that are supported by MP
Even if it (for now) it is in just in standard DVB-S res.
I was thinking of the twinhan DVB-S2 card, but see no support for it in the supported card’s list, ore any other S2 card, ore did I miss one ?

Whit’s CI would be the best, the build in one ore a floppy/fire CI

If there aren’t any of them supported yet I am willing to donate one to MP team for testing and getting support for it.
Got 720p display and would like to see it at its max res :D

TNX for any info you can give me, greetings Michael

since you have DVB-S2, maybe you would better off with a 1080p display ;)

anyway, does the card have BDA drivers?

Can any one give me advice?

And yeah I would love to have 8000 euro 1080p projector :D
But my 1200 euro Sanyo Z4 720p projector has to do ;)

There is support for the technotrends CI in MediaPortal and people have reported success with the older 1500 cards+CI. As the driverset is essentially the same you could probably get the new 3200 DVB-S2 card working but I haven't tried it myself.

No DVB-S2 devices / cards are supported yet.
We have no cards here to test and to implement H.264 at this time.
If a manufacturer comes through by supplying us with a couple of cards then we can get cracking on it.

Yes DVB-S will work if we add S2-3200 card support but at the moment its not supported.
You have to rember alot of these devices are still only press announcements i.e. Twinhan, Hauppauge etc and not readily available.

If you buy it then we can add support with a little bit of your help however DVB-S2 will not work until the next TV Engine which is work in development at the moment.

So what your saying is just buy a sheap DVB-S card thats suported and the rest of the stuff i need.
And then when the next 0.3 TV Engine is out upgrade the sat card for a new DVB-S2 card

i was thinking of the KNC ONE TV-Station DVB-S2 Plus
But if there is no (full) suport yet for it i can wait properly the prices will drop a bit to :D

one quistion dose it meater what CI card i use ?

    Grtz and tnx X

No what I'm saying is that if you buy a DVB-S2 card the H.264 HDTV features will not work and hence will only work on the DVB-S channels using MPEG-2 like a normal DVB-S card today.

At this time no DVB-S2 is in the support list but can be added if you buy it and it has BDA drivers.

As for CI support you're better off buying a card from a family which already has CI support with MP (Technotrend, Twinhan or Digital Everywhere) unless you can get us the SDK of the card you're buying.

As for CAMs for the CI slot you'll have to check what is supported by the card & CI module manufacturer.
