So... I upgraded my two revo 3600 and 3610 clients from XP to windows 7 ultimate 32 bit last week and despite reading all the posts about EVR etc I'm still a bit confused. Here's where i'm at.

I've treid all sorts of codecs and hlave setteled on ms codecs for testing. I have saf 5 latest build installed. I have powerstrip outputing 1280x768 32bit 50hz to my old plasma panel over vga.

I have installed dshowhelper_owlsroost_v0037_and_patch.zip and selected mpaudiorenderer in config. Vsync is application controlled (don't know if this will affect anything) deinterlacing is set to none in mpconfig.

i'm using blue3 wide for testing although streamed mp is installed this skin seemed to make things worse.

I use for the record although the problem was there before 4tr was installed.

when I press shift 1 the frame rate is about 40fps. shouldn't it be 50 fps for smooth tv. I drop anything between 1-10%
The red line samtooths 3 lines worth and occasionally to the bottom of the graph.yellow and green are flatter but still a saw tooth with green occasionally reaching the bottom.

EVR log is a mess of issues, I could do with a hand understanding the graph and logs. Are my frame rates normal?

Windows / drivers are reporting different refresh rate than the one set by Powerstrip. As first step you should try disabling Powerstip completely and use some (no matter what) resolution from the drivers itself that has 50Hz refresh rate (currently it is set as 60Hz).

Not sure if that causes some trouble in AERO / DirectX, but it is worth to try at least.

i'm using blue3 wide for testing although streamed mp is installed this skin seemed to make things worse.

Althou when skin affects the video playback quoality it is most lilely a performance issue you are seeing.

Many thanks, I saw what you ment from shift 1. The reported refresh rate was 60hz but detected was 50 hz. I've now tried witha and without powerstrip.

After that I uninstalled then reinstalled mp client and 4tr and it worked this time. pretty much default then using owlwolfs directshow helper and using mp audio renderer. all three lines very level.

I think that I had updated drivers for my chipset after installing mp client I then tried this same procedure on my first revo 3600 client. It worked again seemingly confirming my suspicions.

My last 3600 client has the same issues despite reinstallation of mp. I believe its a performance issue here to. now i've saw more graphs i recognise that a regular sawtooth of the red graph happens when performance is ok but refresh rate of display and media do not match.
The problem i have is the red graph is all over the place. at points i lose over 50% of frames. the proccesor is not overworked during this period. I believe I have no unnecessary processes eating cycles. I'm thinking drivers may be causing this now but I'll need to experiment more.
The last client still has the mismatch between reported and detected frame rates. I think this is maybe due to powerstrip working below the level of nvidia control panel. The 3610 and 3600 that are working really smoothly now both still report the same mismatch of refresh rate. I think that any small, irregular and infrequent stutters are coming from network/windows spikes across my home lan.
What cpu useage are people getting from acer revo 3600 2GB models running SDTV (MS Codecs) on a client running windows 7 ultimate and MP 1.1.0?
Otherwise. This is the most stable MP has been for me with the best tv quallity ever. Thanks.

I've done some testing and on three revo 3600, 3610's it seems for me at least on a fresh updated windows 7 ultimate I had to update all the drivers before installing mp 1.1.0 or i get horrible live sdtv performance. After installing the drivers I had to do a complete mp clean out. a regular install wouldn't work, even with the same settings.
