I just acquired a Dell Optiplex gx270 and this is a small computer. I need a low profile tv tuner for this reason. I need a tv tuner that can record HDTV, is low profile, PCI (not PCI-e), and of course is supported with Media Portal.

Some cards that I found were the Saber DA-1N1-I Combo Analog/Digital PCI TV Tuner Card and FusionHDTV7 RT Gold. I also saw a MSI digi@anywhere but I don't know if they are good for recording. Are any of these cards supported by Media Portal? and if they are supported do they cause performance issues?

If these cards don't work, are there any other cards that fit the criteria I listed above?

Are they any good at recording HDTV? Are they heavy on the processor when recording. I have a Pentium 4 2.8ghz.

    Hi!

To record a HDTV show does not require CPU load. CPU load will be needed when you play the recorded show (on the client).
I'm using a pair of Hauppauge Nova TD devices with no problem on an Pentium 4 server.
