Synopsis::

I implemented WebEPG over the weekend following the demise of most other EPG services in Australia. Worked like a dream. Two days later, I noticed some TV channels had no audio. Have now determined that only three channels (SBS, Seven and Nine Guide Page) have audio, all others are silent. The video on all channels is choppy. Also, My Music will play no files. Pre-recorded video plays fine (audio and video) and TV channels via DNTV Live are all fine with both audio and video. I have updated to the latest build of MP and rescanned all TV channels but nothing has improved over the week. Basically, I have had to scrap using MP and reverted to DNTV Live - a disapointment, as it has been so stable for the last couple of weeks. I have also tried many different combinations of codecs, with and without FFDshow post-processing, to no avail.

I haven't made any changes other than install an update to PC Cillin. I'll check what restore points i have to work with. I have discovered the problem with My Music was a user (me) error - I shifted the music files to a different drive but did not properly re-scan the libarary. However, the TV audio is a persistent problem. I tried recording TV and it records without sound, but the other TV App (DNTV) reads and records fine. So, there is a problem with MP grabbing the sound that is definitely there. I'll keep trying different codecs.

Well I got to the point where I was about to toss out MP. Stuttering badly on all channels. audio only on 2 (plus an EPG channel), freezing when opening up the EPG, having to completely reboot PC after a freeze. So, I backed up the current install (just in case), unistalled the lot and reinstalled with the current RC4 candidate. Retuned all TV channels, reinstalled EPG grabber, reinstalled required plugins. After 2 hours at the keyboard, it all works without a hitch. Only negative is the 10 seconds between channel changes. This "feature" alone is enough to keep MP on the study PC, but I enjoy its features nonetheless. If I can get channel changing down to 2 or 3 seconds, as per STB, it will be a real contender. Signal strength and quality as reported by STB is 100% and 92% respectively so I don't see there is muh more I can do on that front. :)

    It is even shorter here ;-9
    Without timeshift almost instant (like 0.5 sec)

    Recent svn had a lot of changes for this
