Hey all...

I dont have the best internet connection around, which is causing the component download section of the installation to fail. Is there a way to download all the components manually? and then add them to the installation folder so that the installer thinks it has been downloaded. This way I can download the components at a friends house, and bring them over to my place.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Yes you should be able to, i know that's what i did with my first MP installation.I downloaded the component from work and installed them at home where i had no internet connection.

Which OS will you be installing on, i found out that in WinVista/7 you did not have to download all component like in XP, i think these are the files you will need, to check for the complete list just check under manual installation where the required files are listed

That doesn't help if you have connection problems.
DeployTool will fail as soon as the connection is dropped and you have to start again.

You should be able to place the packages in \Local Settings\Temp\MediaPortal Installation\deploy folder and let the installer run though I've never tried it.

Whenever I upgrade I have to manually run the install files from there as I don't have internet at home and MP can't find my XAMPP MySQL install.
