Hi all,
When you are watching TV and press "Record", you are shown the following dialog:

1 Current Programme
2 Until Manual Stop
Often a TV Program doesn't abide by its Now'and'next EPG timing and starts much much later, and finishes at a time when you are sleeping or not home.
In this situation:
1 Current Programme (no good since the EPG timing is way out, even with extended start and end time padding enabled)
2 Until Manual Stop (no good since I would need to wake up in the middle of the night to stop it, or leave it and have your HDD fill up with 8 hours of recordings)
What we need is a 3rd option that instantly starts recording and automatically stops in 30 minutes. If you press the record button (or the OK button) again, it adds another 30 minutes to the recording length, and so on..
