    Hi.
Not answering, but I know my ("original") MCE-remote (from Microsoft) can learn other IR codes and map them to vol+/vol- and TV-power. Perhaps this might be possible with your as well? (I have used a remote like your, branded Hauppauge, but can't remember if it had learning ability).

According to what I read online, it cannot re-learn buttons. This is therefore not an option for me.

Heres another strange thing. When I go to Translator, under the programs tab I click New (Thinking I could program my volume buttton in there to blast and have a global reoprogramming of this button) and then it asks me to click a button on the remote, and if I click the volume buttons in the remote, nothing happens (it times out) - all other buttons work fine....
    So What do I do?

    Thanks

Some MCE remotes have the ability to learn for the volume buttons, not all.

If the remote can't learn you need a blaster. If you only want to map the volume buttons, IRSS in my opinion is overkill. It is much easier to use something like 'LM Remote Keyboard', free and simple to use.

perhaps I wasnt entirely clear here.
    1) I have a Hauppauge MCE remote (came with my MCE-150) which cannot learn new commands.
    2) I have a blaster. Came with the MCE remote.
    3) In the blasting section of Translator I managed to learn the volume up and volume down of the Amplifiers remote. Testing it there works fine, everything blasts great.
    4) Now I want to program Translator to receive a volume-up button in my remote and to blast the command. This does not work, Translator will not agree to learn the Volume Up button. The debugger doesnt recognize these buttons as well. From what Ive been reading these buttons send Windows Messages. This guy was trying to do the opposite thing, to have a button trigger windows commands, thats what he found out:

    5) LM Remote Keymap software doesnt work with my blaster while IRSS does. I tried. It seems Translator is the only software where my blaster works.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks...

It was totally clear, and I have an idea :) :

Don't use IRSS, use LM Remote Keymap (sorry got the name wrong in the earlier post) . Give this 30 minutes of your time and you will be convinced.

As I wrote, I tried LM Remote Keymap and gave it way more than 30 minutes of my time... It seems to work with MCE blaster but doesn't seem to work with my Hauppauge IR Blaster. The only software I managed to find which works with the Hauppauge IR Blaster just fine is IRSS. The only tiny problem with IRSS is that it doesn't recognize the volume-up and volume-down buttons as key presses. A lot of people seemed to have this problem in the past (I've read just about every thread here about this subject), so this problem has persisted in versions of IRSS *years* back... People just found other ways of doing what they wanted, I can't see any other way here for me:
    The situation is simple
    1) IRSS is the only software where I can use the blaster. That works really good when pressing "Test".
    2) All I need is a way for mediaportal to recognize volume-up and volume-down buttons... This is so annoying... :(

Did you ever find a solution to your problem?
