maya skin doesnt resemble the screen shots. (1 Viewer)

MediaPortal Version: 1.1.3
MediaPortal Skin: Maya 1.1.0.0
Windows Version: Windows 7

i have been trying out the Maya skin and im finding on the first menu selection page i have large full screen images which dont resemble the screen shots for the skin. Am i doing something wrong? why does it look different to the screenshots?

the screen shots on the website have a nice blue overlay over the images. i seem to get just full screen images of CD's, Guitars, Radio, gears etc..
is there a way i can make it look like the screen shots on the previews for the skin..
Ive installed media portal on 3 different computers along with this skin but i get the same results each time.
any advice would be a great help.

use the Maya config app plugin and turn off fanart options

In mediaportal config:

GUI > Select Maya > below in the "homescreen" dropdown > select "basichome only"

Then run basichome configurator in the plugins section.
