Hello,

i have a very very strange problem with my Win MCE. When i watch TV or play a dvr-ms file, my PC reboots. If i play the file (stored on Win MCE PC) through the network, it reboots! In this case nor the TV card or any video function is used. I changed all the things in my PC, except the motherboard which was changed but with same model, power supply and HDs.

After some search through internet about dvr-ms files, i don't understand 2 things :

- Do these files contain any hardware signature protection?
- dvr-ms files can store protection broadcasted by broadcasters? In analog, too?

I used MP for a while, then switched to MCE and now i'm seriously thinking about switching back to MP, because i don't trust MS and all its proprietary shit.

I'm a former MCE user, but unfortunately can't help you with your problem. It's more likely to be HW or driver-realted than due to MCE itself. That said, my advice is:
*DUMP MCE*: MP is 10x better! :D

I think so. The biggest problem for me in MP was the EPG. But, now that i have switched to DVB-T, i see that things in MCE are not better. And it can't manage my hybrid TV card.

How do i set the EPG for TNT Switzerland + France in MP?

... And it can't manage my hybrid TV card.

I also have a hybrid card: Hauppauge HVR-1300MCE, and it works fine with MP. You are more likely to get help if you post a support request. If you will complete the system specification in your profile, others will be able to see what you have, and the information will be automatically inserted into your support post.
