Hi everyone,

First of all, what a breath of fresh air media portal is, i've had no end of trouble with mce 2005 and am glad to report that all my problems went away when i loaded up media portal. However I do have a couple of problems now if someone could shed some light on!

First of all, the MCE remote I'm using seems to be a little unstable with MP, its a Digitech Brand, new onto the market (MS Copy, im in australia, can get them for $20AUD if ppl r interested hehe). The remote works fine in MCE, however changing channels in MP just doesn't work at all, you need to out to the channel menu in the first screen to change channel. A lot of the functions on the remote just go no where, hitting the My Music or videos or anything does respond. Browsing around MP is fine though. I've tried various settings in the remote setup and had a look at the mapping but don't really know what I'm looking at.

Remote page is here:

The second problem I have is with the TV function. Its taken me a while to set up all the channels correctly, I'm having a little trouble (read - this is mostly working now) with some channels 'mis-matched' with EPG the guide. My main problem with the TV though is load times. If i hit 'my tv' it takes 30 seconds before the screen comes up then another 10 seconds before the TV 'switches on'. This is also tru for changing channels, takes maybe 15 seconds to change a channel. The tuner is a Leadtek 1000T.

I also have a Leadtek USB Dongle, however it does not get picked up by MP.

Sorry about the long post, probably don't make sense, but i'm at work, and spent all last night (read 2am) setting this up.

System Specs are nothing unusual:

AMD 3500+
Nvidia 6800 Ultra
Windows XP SP2
Leadtek 1000T Tuner

    Hi,
About the remote, if you enable MCE in MP Configuration -> Remote & MCE tab, then enable Extended logging too, close Configuration & Start MP navigate around & close MP & post your MediaPortal.log.

    Hi,
Download this modified eHome Infrared Transceiver List XP.xml (it's a zip file), extract & replace the one in MediaPortal installation folder(just backup/rename/move the old one) & test again & attach the MediaPortal.log to your post again(also if it works, need to know which id thats is correct) ;)

    Regards
    Roy

I get a slow channel change with the cyberlink video codec, but fast when I use the Leadtek codec.
The problem is when using the leadtek the skip/and FFD/RWD functions dont work properly. I have had no luck with FFDShow as a codec either. I am using the leadtek DTV1000T and a DTV1000S.

I had to alter a settigns file to get the 1000S to work. It may be harder with a USB tho there is a post on how to get them to work

same deal, after i got the log the first time, the channels started working (i did a channel rescan), however the only buttons that work are the left/right/up/down/ok/ volume up/down and channel up/down, nothing else works, so i can't pause, stop skip etc.. with music or videos.

here is the log file after changing the xml file though

    cheers for helping

    Hi,
Yup, the first one was wrong so then you need to test the other two ;)
edit the file in Notepad & remove this line:
    Code:
    	<transceiver deviceid="#vid_045e&pid_0039" name="Digitech MCE 1" />

if that doesn't work remove the Digitech MCE 2 & test again ....

    Hi,
nope it is just the id your system reports as id fields for your remote, if it's a MCE clone & with correct id it should work out of the box with MP, maybe something else has changed....
