I am looking to get a remote to control my MP setup. As part of my setup I will need an IR Blaster to control a cable box. I am looking at the following remote: Amazon.com: Windows 7 Vista XP Media Center MCE PC Remote Control and Infrared Receiver for Home, Premium and Ultimate Edition: Electronics

It does not come with the IR Blaster like some of the HP MCE setups that I have heard mentioned on the forums. Can I buy the remote mentioned above and then just buy a IR Blaster separately and have them work together or am I better off getting a package with a remote, IR receiver and IR blaster? Thanks for your help and Happy 2011!

I don't have an IR blaster, but I believe they work by plugging into a port somewhere. The IR receiver you're looking at has no such port, while the bundled ones do. At the very least, it'd be more convenient to get the bundle.
