Using Windows 7 RC1 with MP 1.0.2.0 and an MCE remote. Only the arrow and OK buttons are functioning in MP. I previously was using MP 1.0.0.0 with Windows Vista SP1 and the remote worked fine out of the box.

I have "use MCE remote" checked in the configuration. How can I troubleshoot this issue?

How does it work? It just does... Same as it did with Vista, at least I don't think I did.
I have a USB IR receiver that came with it

Picture of remote attached...

That's the Hauppauge MCE remote which is RC6 (M$ specification) for their remotes, so should work fine

There are a few strange things that happen with Win7 for myself, so do not consider the RC a daily functional system, so be prepared for surprises.

I assumed there would be some strange things, but "strange" things are usually fixable, however I have no idea how to troubleshoot this issue... is there some advanced logging I can do? Is there a way to teach MP what keys are getting pressed?

Have you selected MCE remote in MediaPortal Configuration>Remote?

:sorry: I see that you have already stated that you did that.

I had the same problem with 7 RC1.

Fixed it by instaling the IR-Suite thingy form the plugins section.

    1. Install left all settings as default.
    2. Deselect MCE controller in MP Config.

and away we go, all buttons working again.

There is a tread in here some where about it.
