Hi All

I have been trying for some time now to get the QWERTY keys to work.
I have read all the suggestions in this forum I think with no luck!

I use Danish WinXP Pro with SP2

I am unable upgrade the drivers with rollup 1 or 2 or some external links where people have extracted them in advance.

The Rollup is not available in my native language so I have to use the english version. It tells me that I can not install directly from the setup file because of the language - but I have been able to extract the drivers and install manually.

When I try to upgrade the drivers in the device manager (USB, Keyboard and HID) I allways ends up with a Infrared tranceiver under HID devices that is unable to start (code 10). Even if I go back to the old driver it is still unable to start. I have to recover from a system recovery point in the past to get the remote and keyboard to work again (but without QWERTY support).

All the other device drivers that is related to the remote and keyboard can be replaced without problems (but no QWERTY). Also tried different sequence in the upgrade etc. Tried to install Dot Net 1.1 (using 2.0) because the rollup say it is required etc.

Please help!

    Hi beastybeast

Besides Brocklander's fix for xp home, i cannot understand why your keyboard not recognised by xp pro, with all available updates installed as done. with just SP2 installed qwerty not recognised, with all newer updates installed, qwerty worked for me have you done this.
    Also read this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/900325/
hope this helps in some way, because i can't see the Danish version being that unsupported by MS.

It might be recognised if I was able to install the driver - but I am not.

    I have the same problem

    Hello!

I have exactly the same problem with the difference that I use a Swedish version and it´s Home and not PRO. Have you found a solution?

All keys but the QUERTY ones worked fine (on both the remote and the keyboard) until I tried to uninstall the drivers for the remote reciver and install them again, now nothing works and I´m experience the same problem as you do.

Are there anyone that has a solution to our problem? Please...

    Microsoft remote keyboard, non qwerty

    Hello

    mediaportal-svn-04-22-2006--12-24.rar

I also have the same problem. I use Norwegian XP Pro SP2, and the remote and the extra buttons on the keyboard is working fine, but not the qwerty part or mouse control on the keyboard.

i also have tried to download and install the 'rollup 1 and 2' needed for the keyboard to work( from MS update) , but gets the 'wrong language' message..

Can anyone help us with this problem please ?
I really dont want to buy/install MCE.. Media Portal rules..!
