Hi All, I spent most of the day getting MediaPortal to work with my new remote, and I thought I would share my experience as there is a lot of outdated info out there. My setup: Windows xp pro sp3 fully updated as of this writing (NOT media center edition) Remote: GP-IR02BK. MediaPortal 1.0.2 (downloaded today) Procedure: -Plug in the IR receiver to a working usb port -When it prompts you to install choose no on downloading from net, --choose install from a specific location (advanced), --choose dont search i will choose, --UNCHECK show compatible hardware, --Choose microsoft on the left, --then choose eHome Infared Receiver on the right. --Choose yes on the warning -At this point the remote should work with the ir receiver (you press a button on the remote a red light shows on both remote and receiver). Devince manager should show it as eHome Infrared Receiver with no errors or warnings -Download and install the message plugin from MEDIAPORTAL - free media center - Message Plugin -Download and install EventGhost: Download EventGhost -Download Morpheus_xx's xml file from this post (big thx morpheus_xx): https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/319219-post39.html -Now open eventghost and under configuration, add the mce remote plugin and the media portal plugin. -In eventghost choose open, and browse to morpheus's xml file you just downloaded to load it. Now you can launch media portal and the remote should work. In my case, some keys didn't, but it is easy enough to customize anything you can dream up with eventghost and mediaportal. Hint try pushing remote buttons with eventghost in focus then dragging the logged items from the left to your macros on the right. Big thanks to everyone at Team Media Portal, and everyone who posts on forums like these- they are an invaluable help. -w
