Ok, I've looked all over for info on this and I apologize if I missed it somewhere. But how in the world can I access the media library? I'm writing a GUI plugin using VB.NET and I can't for the life of me figure out how to access the media library.

Thanks,
Josh

Welcome to mediaportal. did know your name from the forums there, but not that you are listed for 17 meedio plugins.

Can´t help you on the topic. The irc chat is allways a good place, but timedifference might be a problem for you.

walts81 - The only thing you may need to do is to stay up later or wake up earlier. Plus hope that the developer you want to chat with - is on at the sametime. You can get some fast help wiht IRC - also suggest you getting an open source irc chat app. The one that has been recommended has been hydrairc
    http://www.hydrairc.com/.

Wish you the best in your coding efforts!

Use the MediaPortal.Music.Database class. If you want to see the class file, its located in Database/Music/Database.cs.

Its not a static class btw, so you will need to instantiate it (as oppose to some of the others).

There are equivalent classes for Videos, TV, Radio etc. Check out the Database project.
