I live in the Ireland and use sky digital.
I am just about to build a media portal system.
I understand for a SKY STB I would use IR signals to synchronise channel changes on Media Portals tv guide with SKY epg channels.
The irish sky epg does not include BBC3 or 4 or ITV 1, 2 etc but we can get them my setting them up under other channels under the services section on the sky stb.
Is there a way for me to associate say BBC3 on the media portal tv guide with a sequence of ir signals. i.e. to simulate the remote control key presses required to view one of these non epg other channels.
The key presses in my sky remote to watch BBC3 would be <SERVICES> <OTHER> <DOWN> <DOWN> <OK>
I get the impression from reading other posts that the media portal ir signal sent to the sky stb for channel changes can only be the epg channel number.
