this probably doesnt belong here, but it would be great to have a mediaportal bootup screen instead of the windows one.

XPpro39setup.jpg

also is there any way to adjust the shell to media portal instead of

explorer.exe ?

    I might do it if I get time. Does anyone have a copy of the MP logo at a decent res. (Samsonite ?)
    Also, you won't really be able to set MP as your shell, it's just not designed to be one. Why not just add it to your startup folder and default it to fullscreen?

    ShiftClick's logo can be downloaded from here:

    Looking forward to see the results :)

    I made a screenshot of MP and set it as the desktop wallpaper. If there wasn´t the splash screen, you wouldn´t realize the start of MP. The taskbar is moved out of the desktop. The only thing you could see it is the date and time. But you won´t really see it. ;)

    If there´s a boot screen, please post it, I really want to delete this myHTPC screen, since this ugly piece of alpha software was released here in germany for 50,-€... :evil:

    And regarding your question about the shell replacement:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
    "Shell"="C:\Program Files\Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal.exe"

    I don't organise my media in the way that you do, so I don't know whether MediaPortal provides the capability that you want. All that I can suggest is that you read this page in the MP Wiki and experiment to see if it will merge the separate folders to give you a unified view of the media. -- from CyberSimian in the UK

    If I understand correctly, your device is combination of DVB-C tuner, router and some web access to play the channels in PC web browser. You can sniff http comunication with the help of Wireshark or Fiddler to determine channel url which can be used to create IPTV channel in TV server. If the url is not static(changes dynamically)...
