I have the Silverstone LC20-M case and in MediaPortal I selected the General HID device and it works fine.

If you manage getting the PC powering on by the remote control I'd be interested as I can get it turning off, but have never managed to get the remote to turn the PC back on.

Yeah, I've done all that and checked many times, so not sure why it doesn't work for me.
Perhaps it's some weird motherboard/hardware thing, or maybe because I have the 'frontview' set to never start. I think by the default software install it's set to automatically, but I'm pretty sure I had to set it to never so MP would display it's stuff on the VFD.

It's no biggie, but would be good if I could get it working...

Are you powering the VFD from an internal USB port, or an external one?
Also, what are the settings you are using for the VFD in the iMon setup program?

Hi
Im using an external usb source simply because ive used up the internal ones on the front panel of the case and as for the imon settings i got it set to display when u use the remote and changed the opacity so u can only just see it so as not to stick out in MP which it did at first ive used all 3 settings for the vfd and they all work fine with powering off (was just playing with the settings at first) i got the remote working now but its very slow compared to haupauge one i was using i.e it can take 20secs for a command to register batteries are fine weird eh? i got a logitech 555 and ive just copied the best features of that onto the logi works a treat :D :D :D

I turned the sounds for receiving commands and the opaque display off. Found that the display had to be set to never so MP could display it's stuff on it. Tried ticking the 'use 3rd party' thing in the setup, but then the remote didn't work...

I might try using an external USB port and see if that changes anything. Odds are I've just got a setting in the BIOS or somewhere not quite right as I've never had any luck getting the remote to power on the HTPC.

Never had any problems with commands taking a while to register though. Is that with everything, or just in MP?

I used to have these problems but I now use Girder instead. It uses much less ram than Imon and gives you much better control - you don't need to put up with any of the silly onscreen clocks or anything. I also found the Imon pad annoying, particularly the middle control button so I switched to the Sony RM-VL600 learning remote - now it works like a treat and one remote controls my comp and amp. Now my system works perfectly.

Hi there good people.

I have the Silverstone cabinet my self. With the Imon remote.

The remote works fine as a "mouse", but i want it to act more like a remote in Media Portal. That means if i press down, it jumps down 1 space in the menu. Now it scrolls down like a mouse.

Iv tried running as "General HID", but still it moves like a mouse.

Anyone gotten that to work?
