When i start MP, my Key inputs to the rest of the system are very delayed.

    Here the facts i found:

The problem occur only, when the menu is visible (home screen, myTV screen etc). (CPU usage approx. 5-10%)
When i play TV in FULLSCREEN the problem is gone.(CPU usage approx. 20%)
But when i am in the MyTV screen and tv is playing and the menu is visible, my CPU usage rises up to 70%

Its no matter whether MP is minimized or no.

    its 100% reproducible:

    1. start MP (stay to home screen)
    2. switch in window mode
    3. open a text input field/area (ex.: windows key +R)
    4. hold down any key (ex.: i ) :D
    5. feel the slowness of the repeating letter
    6. close MP (or start TV in Fullscreen or start TV in window mode but fit to the hole window)
    7. hold down the letter again
    8. feel the speediness of the repeating letter

    For the protocoll:

I tried everything with my keyboard (tried wireless and cable Keyboard, USB and PS2).
    Tried all keyboad setting.
Tried all possible graphic and skin related setting in and outside MP.
The problem came with MP 1.0 RC1 :-(

Hope anyone can help me or reproduce the problem.

    Thanks in advanced.

    Thanks!

I read the thread and tested the 3 different fontEngine files, quickly in the morning.

But the issue with the slow key input is still there.

I did not test the CPU-usage, but i will.

Maybe someone can reproduce the key input issue.:D

    I tested again.

CPU usage seems to be fine now, with the new fontengine.dll, but that was not my problem.

The key input issue is still there.

    reproduce steps:

    1. start MP
    2. stay to home screen
    3. minimize MP
    4. open a text input field/area (ex.: windows key +R or write a bugreport)
    5. hold down any key (ex.: i )
    6. feel the slowness of the repeating letter
    7. close MP
    8. hold down the letter again
    9. feel the speediness of the repeating letter

Hope anyone can reproduce the bug.

    Thanks.

I've fixed the default in SVN.

    Basically you need to:
    1. enable the "General HID" input plugin if not already done
    2. disable the background listening
    3. disable the plugin again if you don't need it.

This should "fix" the slow input for you.

Do you need the latest SVN to apply your fix, rtv? I've looked for the "General HID" input plugin but cannot find it (searched the plugins in configuration as well as on the plugins download link on the main page of MP). I am running the released version of RC1.
