Mediaportal 1 Release, when? (1 Viewer)

Hi, i was wondering when will final mediaportal 1 be release?

i have absolutely no complains on 0.2.3 so im not worried if it takes some time, i am just curious.

I guess that after the release of MP1, all the work will go to MPII, right?

I don't think when is an issue, it's just a number. What is important is that it has been decided to concentrate only on fixes now for MP1 which is a good thing as there is less of a chance for plugins/skins to become broken as they have in the past. This is a good time for MP1 and MPII.

thats the reason that i said i dont mind how long it takes. 0.2.3 is working perfectly for me (im not using TV yet) so i have no hurry.

This has been said many times, but I'll say it once more. Media Portal is developed by people who has his/her work, family, friends, and so on. So we don't actually have a fixed amout of time during the day to work exclusively on Media Portal. This makes it very difficult to estimate dates. Of course the develoment team can propose a release date, so all members can try to finish pending work in time, but that's it. See? It's not that the development team is hiding the information, it's just that they are normal people with a life .

That being said, there is work being done on Media Portal 1, so it can reach the version 1 mark. But it's mostly bug-fixing, and no new features will be introduced. This is in order to reach the most bug-free version released to date, and devote most of the work to Media Portal 2.

Keep looking around and when there is a planned date, you'll see it on the front page. And also trying SVN releases and posting bug reports will help reach to that release.

once again i dont mind if it take 1 month or 1 year, the actual version works perfectly for me.
