mediaportal and SD on a hdtv (1 Viewer)

I,m buying my first hdtv soon , and would like to know what freeview SD standard definition , looks like on a hdtv through mediaportal, my only output from my nvidia tv card is s-video.

Is the SD freeview picture any better when using mediaportal to an hdtv

It looks fine. Some channels of course are better than others but you'll find out first hand.

Depends on your hardware and settings. Remember that 576p video on a 60" 1080p screen is going to look a little blocky.

Main issue for SD TV is de-interlacing. very basic graphics cards might struggle in this area.
