AW: MediaPortal Audio renderer - better video playback quality The new versions are really good. It's smoother than the final MP 1.1.0 . Also I have sometimes slowups und the last time black screens when I start to show TV. Hard to say where the problems came from, because the htpc was running really good in the past. A restart solves the black screen problem. But I also updated and tested much. So the problems can also be selfmade :-) I realized that my tv-signal is sometimes not good or not good enough. Than I get corruption of the picture and hickups in the sound. The wiring seems not to be the best (DVB-C), also I tried almost everthing for me is possible to solve this ugly problem. Powerdvd-codec (saf) and ffdshow (saf) and the ati drivers have also some curious effects. The SAF author do resizes at slow resolutions with lanzos and ffdshow that makes pc slow and make color corruption with satturated red (GUESS that SAF is the problem), while powerdvd seems to flicker with dxva and to stutter without dxva. Deactivating of the feature seems to help, also after the last updates now I have again no problems with resize-Feature. All problems are mainly on TV. Sometimes it runs smooths, sometimes not. This gets really on my nerves. Seems all to be voodoo :D With more time I will try to sort the problems out. But the hope is here, that sometimes a good update will come that will solve all my problems ;) All video-content from hdd and not from TV is really smooth. DIVX,h264, sd to hd with stereo/dolby surround/dolby digital with no problems. Also my test-samples from dolby played for the first time smooth with my pc configuration. This is the shinning other site of the htpc. So I think you and the other guys done a really good job with the Audio renderer. Also SAF Author, ffdshow Authors, and ATI done a good job.
