When trying to playback recordings windows gives an error message stating that mediaportal has crashed. Some old recordings work, but any resent recordings will crash mediaportal.

This only happens on my installation holding the tv-server and a mediaportal client. The same recording will playback on my other client installation.

Logs attached,

Let me know if further information is needed.
Best regards,
Bo

Can you provide a screenshot of the error in teh crash please ?

I can also see a error.log with issues on RTSP but then in MP.log:

    2010-08-18 21:18:36.954474 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: TvRecorded Play:C:\recordings\Zulu Djævleræs 5_ Beskidt som aldrig før! - Zulu - 2010-08-17.ts - using rtsp mode:False

that is confusing. What way are you using to playback ?
Can you delete all logs and try to recreate please ?

    Simone

Fair enough. I do however not understand why the files crash Mediaportal on the mediacenter in my livingroom and not on the mediacenter in the bedroom. But maybe it is just one of those things...

Is the client that playback the file and analyze the stream.
Can you start uploading the TS file on our internal FTP and then after 40/50Mb kill the connection ? I hope to get enough data to cause the crash here as well

    Simone

P.S.> Does that TS file get analyzed fine with MediaIngo GUI application ?

I had this exact same issue including the using rtsp mode:False message in the log back in July during the RC development... I have a single-seat installation with server and client in one PC. You got MediaInfo fixed (for my files) with the update to MediaInfo 0.7.34 in July. I was concerned that others had issues stemming from MediaInfo... seems this thread is another in addition to MP hangs when starting certain .ts files reported in July with dhasselqvist being sent to the MediaInfo developers for support. I wonder how he faired and would ask Simone to see if he could help identify whether these two posts (along with mine making three in all) have some commonality that MediaInfo is having difficulty evaluating thus crashing MediaInfo.

I asked in June What advantage does MP get, have, or need to use a later version of Mediainfo that some (like myself) are having issue with? And, if we're relying on this utility then we should help those having issue...

I would suggest being sure the thumbnail generation is off (as one thought) and disabling TV-Series if you have it.
