When trying to select a channel, Mediaportal crashes completely on the client side, on the erver side is says: unknown error on stream 2.0.
It's only affected on 2 channels that recently changed frequency:
- Dorceltv Astra 19.2 12721000 22000 horizontal
- Daringtv Astra 23.5 11875000 27500 horizontal

I think it has something to do with the ts-reader or ts-writer buffer.

thx

Ok, i've generated some new logs.
When trying to watch one of those two channels on the tv-server pc, I got the following error: cannot play live2-0.ts.buffer.
When I try this on a mediaportal client pc, mediaportal completely crashes.

I have narrowed down the problem.
I can timeshift and record these channels.
I can play the ts-files in VLC media player.
In Windows Mediaplayer I only hear sound, no picture.
In Mediaportal I cannot.
Could this be an ts-reader or codec problem?

Could this be an ts-reader or codec problem?

Yes, it is clearly a TsReader or codec problem. The error in you logs is this:

2011-05-15 15:22:52.196123 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: TSReaderPlayer: Exception while creating DShow graph Poging tot het lezen of schrijven van beveiligd geheugen. Dit duidt er vaak op dat ander geheugen is beschadigd.

Translated I think that means: "Attempt to read or write protected memory. This often indicates that other memory is corrupt."

The line should be something like:

    TsReaderPlayer: OnVideoFormatChanged - streamtype=H264 resolution=1920x1080 aspect ratio=16:9 bitrate=15000000 isInterlaced=True

What video codecs are you using? Remember that TS files are played with the TV codec settings, not the video codec settings...

I've used all the codecs provided with Mediaportal, nothing works.
Currently I'm using the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder.

Could this be at all related to the Pause / Stop attribute assigned at the Tuner level in 1.2.0.0 Beta? The OP stated an issue related to tuning and has progressed to an inability to view video... just my 2-cents, not trying to insight anyone. TIA

    Hi Andrew

    Thanks for the suggestion! :)
In this case I don't *think* so - it looks to me like the user is already using stop mode anyway...

    Hi,

    No, it's not a pause/stop issue.
I have this problem before Mediaportal 1.2b.
I was using MP 1.1.1 when those 2 channels changed their frequency, I rescanned these channels and they didn't work anymore resulting in the errors mentioned above.
    - channel testing = ok
    - channel timeshifting = ok
    - channel recording = ok
    - channel watching = on VLC player = ok
    on mediaplayer = only sound
on Mediaportal 1.2b = on tvserver pc = gives an error but Mediaportal keeps working
on client pc = Mediaportal crashes (a window appears that says that Mediaportal has stoppped working and that I have to close the program)

Nero Vision and Power DVD can play the files without problems.
    So I think it's a ts-reader problem.
I have tested this on 4 different Pc's with different setups and the reults are all the same.

I have a sample ready but I'm not eager to upload this because of the adult content.:D
    Any volunteers?
