Can you please give us a little bit more background information? It is very difficult for us to diagnose a problem without any context. Did this problem begin when you upgraded to version 0.7.3? If so, have you tried rolling back to version 0.7.2 to see if that resolves the problem?

Crashes MP

Hi

I have just started getting the exact same problem. When I try and run MPConfig and then Moving Pictures plugin config MP crashes just after its loaded. Also when I run MP 1.0.1.0 it crashes immediately on startup. Windows Message comes up syaing "Mediaportal Has Stopped Working" and the reason is given as moving pictures.

If you tell me where to fing the moving pictures log Ill post it.

MP logs attached
This started happening with moving pictures 0.7.2 so I updated it to 0.7.3 but the problem remains.

Hope you can help

So no one can offer any help?

I went through the process of creating a backup of movingpictures database file and then deleted it from plugins folder so that moving pictures created a new file on launch. This solved the crashing problem so its down to the database itself causing the issue.

Now I have 400+ movies in my db and dont want to go through and rescan them all so.....

How do I fix my database??

Any suggestions please?

depending on any custom info you may have entered, why would you not rescan?
Do you still have your thumbs folder? Then it should pick up your fanart.
400+ movies shouldn't take that long to rescan...

Thanks for replying but that would be serious amount of time as a good percentage are DVDs that would have to be reloaded into the drive . A very long task.

So is there a way to fix the db?

GavinC it looks like you have managed to add an empty import path to Moving Pictures. Probably what happened is you clicked "Manually Add Import Path" by mistake and then you clicked OK instead of Cancel which added a blank import path (this is a bug, it shouldn't allow this). This in turn causes various issues throughout the plug-in causing your crashes.

So no you do not need to rebuild your database from scratch, we just need to get rid of the invalid entry. If you do not want to wait and are feeling a bit adventurous you can open up your database with a program like SQLite Administrator and delete the offending record. Otherwise, give me a few hours and I will put together a build that should fix your issue.
