This is the first time I use Media Portal, and I really want to get it to work!

I performed a clean install with the deployment tool (at the moment I'm connected through my smartphone to the internet, and the plain setup wouldn't work for some reason). Everything installs fine, recognizing what software I already have. When I try to launch the application, however, it crashes right away. The same happens with the configuration tool, but if I wait 5 seconds without closing the error box, it opens and I can navigate it. After checking the install program, it seems to be even writing the DB file properly.

Any ideas?

You need to give us your "LOG" files....also with Vista there are some fiddling required with access etc to get it to work....just search the forum for "Vista" and you will find it.

Of course - I just clean forgot to attach the log.
I searched the forums as suggested, but nobody seems to have the same problem as me :(
    Again, thanks for your help!
