I haven't had a look at the site (very slow internet connection where I am right now), but my first thought is shouldn't this information be in the MediaPortal Wiki instead?

The MP Wiki is already a great resource of information that is linked from the app, from her and from the main site as well. Having instruction videos on another site that also needs promoted for our users to get the most out of it seems a little redundant.

Don't take me the wrong way, anything like this is a great addition, I just don't see the need for a dedicated domain and hosting for this when you can use any of the video hosts out there and the current Wiki.

    Just my 2p :)

I may be in the minority, but I hate video tutorials. They force me to sit through the part I already know in hopes of getting to the portion I need to learn. I much prefer to scan or search text for answers. I applaud your effort and dedication though.

To be fair the normal uninstall is usually more than sufficient. I regularly uninstall and reinstall MP 1 as part of the testing process and only very rarely have I needed to use the manual procedure posted by @CyberSimian to overcome the error you ran into. I also believe there is a procedure to repair the MySQL install in the event...

I removed all sign of MySQL, rebooted, did a clean reinstall. It reinstalled 5.6, But I've still got both the same problem - unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts. And Hostname is still in red. I don't understand - this is a dedicated TV computer. Unless an update did this I don't know why there's a problem in the...
