MediaPortal does not show anything (transparent blank screen) (1 Viewer)

When MP starts up, nothing shows in the main part of the window, but I can see the File menu (and the other menus) and the title bar and window border. When I move the window, the image in the main window does not update.

Hi,
You should try to install MP 0.2.1.0 instead of 0.2.0.4. The error you get it's from a skinfile which try to use a font (the font could be corrupt or MP just doesn't handle it). This it's fixed in later release & in the current SVN.

Well, I have the exact same problem now and I'm using the MP 0.2.1.0 tvengine3-12-11-2006--01-14h--Rev12147.

I'm having the exact same problem. I've gotten the problem a few times before, and fixed it somehow, but now it just won't start. It happened when I changed skin (it's changed back to the default one now).

EDIT: Got it working, finally! The trick is to delete the entire MediaPortal folder, not just uninstall it. I also got fullscreen working Got it working like one time or something before

This happens when you install a skin that uses the weather overlay plugin. When it is installed it is activated by default and when you try to use a skin that doesn't you the plugin, it will hav a transparent screen. This can be fixed by disabling the weather overlay plugin when using a skin that doesn't use it.

Problem persists: "control has invalid animation type"

Hi all,
that problem still persists for me. I still have the 'control has invalid animation type error' constantly and then the MP screen is this white transparent. Happens very often when resuming from hibernate but also in the middle of operation.

What did NOT fix it:

- Disabling weather plugin as indicated above.
- Changing skin (Blue Two vs. X-MAS 2006)
- changing GUI render mode ( Config-> "separate thread")

When terminating MP, the desktop screen is perfect. But when restarting MP, the screen is immediately in this error state. So I always have to reboot the machine.
SVN is of 12-19-2006.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
