Hi guys,

I have a great problem concerning mediaportal. I set up a new windows installation and a fresh mediaportal installation including the latest svn release.

But when I browser through the different plugins and menus mp freezes randomly and I have to shut it down and restart.

The error log file shows some problems with directx:

However I have the latest directx release installed and the directx tests ran successfully.

Anybody has an idea what might be wrong?

there are a few things weird in your logs

    1. Why do you have a TV-Server logs ?
    2. why does your MediaPortal log shows that the inbuild TV-Engine is accessing your TV-Card? (thats realy bad if you use TV-Server)

it seems that something is quite wrong with this installation

    please:
    1. uninstall TV-Server
    2. uninstall MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 RC2
    3. DELETE the MediaPortal folder
    4. Delete the TV-Server folder
    5. install MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 RC2
    6. apply latest svn build of MediaPortal
    7. try again :)

    :D

    Hi!

I have the exact same problem, and it seams regarding to my log, that it's DirectX 9c that's not "compatible" with the motherboard and Media Portal.

    Any suggestions?

    Your suggestion didin't work "Infinityloop".
The problem with the "freezing" stops for a moment when you "toggle" between "full screen mode" and "window".
But then it freezes after a moment again.

    Hi,
PatrikN, attach your system specs & your logs(error.log doesn't tell everything) when this happens.

    Regards
    Roy

Thanks for the advise, but the problem still exist.
I'll send the new logs if it's something you can see with your "trained" eyes.

    Thanks for your devotion!

i am sorry but i have no clue what could cause these DX issue you encounter there.
last advice would be to do a clean installation of mediaportal without any community plugins / skins

    1. uninstall MediaPortal
    2. DELETE MediaPortal folder
    3. install MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 RC2
    4. try again (without any svn builds applied)
