I am trying to setup MP for a friend and when running the latest stable installer it keeps failing.

Firstly when I try to do a single seat with a MySQL (personal Preferance) Database it goes to download the MySQL package from the mediaportal repository it just says it can't find the required file.

I have then tried to do it using an MS Sql database and this download's but fails to install and the program quits. I do not have the error message at the moment but will get it later.

Anyone else having this trouble at present ???

are the correct files there for MySQL I have tried installing the latest MySQL manually, but mediaportal failed to see it was even installed.

Any help much appreciated I am hoping to get this all running for him later tonight otherwise it could be a week or so before I have more time to look at it again.

    Thanks
    Simon

You should make sure that nothing is blocking the Internet requests,
so temporarily disbale all third party firewalls.

Then clean the temporary installation folder,
just type %temp% in the windows explorer and delete the folder
    called MediaPortal installation.

After that you can retry the installation.

Had a quick check and can confirm it.

It seems like the download for the desired MySQL version
was removed from the SUN homepage.
That's why the installer throws this error.

I'll post here once this problem is solved.

    Hi togehter,

I suppose we have the same problem again. Yesterday I did a complete reinstallation my PC. When I tried to install the MP deploy tool it crahs due to a download error. I checked this. The My Sql server Version Mp trys to download is not available on the Sun website. What I don't understand is the fact, that a manual copy of the my sql server in the in the temp installation folder is not working.

So I have no possibility to install MP. I had to use MY SQl because I want to restore the old movie and TS series databases. I would like to suggest redisigning the deploy concept in this case.

flokel: It would be very nice if you could solve the problem sson.

    Thanks

    Jürgen
