Tried lots of times......

Might have solved it though....

Deleted %temp% everything in there.....

Ran media portal 1.0.1 setup and let it fail

Downloaded vcredist2008.exe and saved it in the mediaportal install dir in the %temp% folder and ran vcredist2008 from there.

Then I ran mediaportaldeploytool.exe from inside the temp/mediaportal install folder and it uninstalled the 1.004rc and then quit.

Then I ran the deploy tool again and it did a fresh install and it finished it......:D:D:D

So I will give it a try out

Download details: Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)

Then rename the file to vcredist2008_X86.exe

Or google vcredist2008_x86.exe

Will let you know how I got on......;);):D

BUGFIX No1 .......

The above post gives one solution to the problem.....

Just tried it on my other machine and it didn't work.......

So after a bit of head scratching I had a little look in C:\Documents and Settings\"USER NAME"\Local Settings\Temp\MediaPortal Installation\deploy

Thats where I found another couple of installers......

So I pasted vcredist2008_x86.exe into this folder and ran it......

Then I ran the Package-mediaportal.exe file.

It uninstalled 1.0.0.4rc and did a complete clean of everything.....

Then it installed 1.0.1 with no hassle or problems.....

Now I got two different pc's running mediaportal.....

Full 1.0.1 install with no probs.....

Just needed to add some codecs back in and it worked perfect......:D:D:D:D

Thanks to all who read and replied......:D

Just to let you know HIDEF Looking good on 1080P Tele and mediaportal running nice and smooth.........
