I have noticed this problem a few weeks ago, but can't correct it be rolling back any MediaPortal settings I may have done over the last few months.

Basically, there is no sound being output for any part of Mediaportal. Sound works for everything else on the computer, inlcuding if I play a video in an external player.

I've attached a log package and would be most gratefull if somebody with a bit more knowledge might be able to look to see if they can spot what is wrong.

By the way, my system is Windows Vista 64 with all updates.

Thanks alot!

If you really expect assistance, fill out first the system specs. This may be help to get a notion of your problem.

    Codec Audio: Microsoft MPEG2
    this should be the problem.
first of all try standard MPC-MPA Decoder Filter for audio
then check your settings (in expert mode) Directshow Filter Control/MPC_MPA Decoder Filters

Can't be MS audio codec related, since he says there's no sound in any part of MP. The music section is using BASS, which doesn't use directshow, so if it's got no sound too, it can't be a codec based problem.

The menu navigation makes no sound either?

Sorry for the question, but gotta ask.....Are you sure MP isn't muted? (I've had this happen myself & couldn't figure out why there was no sound).

How would I check that Mediaportal is muted? This did occur to me but I couldn't find how to check it.

Thanks for the replies. I'll check the CODECs and report back to you all.
