    Hi there,

I was constantly thinking about the remote section in the configuration panel of MP. I really like the idea of choosing
your remote and everything works. Thats easy and convienient, but some buttons dont work as intended.

So why can't I press the button, see what MP has received and assign an action to it?

For the Western Digital TV HD Player there was a shell plugin, showing the IR codes of a remote, when you pointed it
to the player and pressed a button. It is an open source project named eiri, written in C Link. After that you could use the code for special commands.

But beside that program, it would be cool to make MP learn more remote commands.

Most people use the IR Server Suite (IRSS) for this, I would rather have it this way because there are so many option in IRSS that it would be hard and take some time to implement them all into MP.

    AW: Mediaportal learns IR codes

yes i tried that program and many more, but since remote support is a core ability of media centers, a portal should
    have that too :)
Just easier and exactly like the other great features of MP work
