MediaPortal Live Distro? (1 Viewer)

I know that MediaPortal is primarily a Windows based project but are there any plans to make a live distribution of it. Something like XBMC Live? - XBMC Maybe we could use Ubuntu with wine to load mediaportal on load?

Sound off people let me know what you think?

LOL I'm not crazy I just think that using MediaPortal with a stripped down linux OS would create the ultimate HTPC. It would have a small footprint, it would boot almost instantly and you could use MediaPortal in place of XBMC with this guide.

I know XBMC already does this but I prefer the MediaPortal GUI and the My Emulators plugin. Last time I checked, the guys in the XBMC forum were still procrastinating over the game library idea which sounds amazing but lacks a release.

Since MP only runs on a Windows OS which you have to pay for a live distribution is simply impossible.

XBMC also runs on linux but MP is Windows only due to heavy use of DirectX

Thanks for the explanation, I knew it used Direct X but I didnt realise it was so important to mp.

Just theoretically though could you create a live XP install on USB or CD with something like bartpe, slipstream mp Then set mp to run fullscreen on Windows boot which wudnt b perfect but it would work I guess

My bad lol that'll teach me for trying to be clever. Maybe bartpe will offer hw accel. at some point in the future.
