Infos:
These Subversion-snaps are compiled at about 01.00h (CET).
You can also visit the official irc-channel (#mediaportal) to get a notice when its ready for download. The trigger !svn gives you the latest update too.
They are not pre-tested, so please use the backup option from time to time.
If you'd like the bleeding edge code and don't mind the inherent risks, upgrade to the snapshot releases as they become available.
If stability is important to you, you might want to stay with the fully-tested releases.

How to install MediaPortal SVN-Snapshots in short:
1) Install MediaPortal 0.2.3.0, not necessary if already done
2) install .NET Framework Version 2.0
3) Run the Snapshot-Installer. You should create a backup.
4) Run Configure. Sometimes the settings and database versions change from build to build, so you have to reconfigure your TV for example
5) Hopefully enjoy the new version
6) If not, restore your old files and you will have the former version back.

Important notice: The backup function wont work for Vista atm, here you need to save your configuration manually. A rewrite is planned but will take some more time for testing.

DirectX Exclusive mode still broken

Directx Exclusive Modus in Videos is broken since Revision:16781. I have cyberlink codec installed.

Revision:16764 is the last one that give me 50fps.When installing 16781 the fps drops to 37fps at .ts HDTV videos.

Since a few SVN builds I can't get DVD playback or myMovies playback to work. It starts playing, but after 2 seconds the video screen dissapears and I come back in MP skin(the screen where I started playing the video). The audio keeps playing but I can't get it to stop with the stop button. Only solution is to restart MP.

This appears with real DVD; DVD directory stucture; avi and mpg video files

Anyone else has this behaviour?

I can't play recorded TV, blank screen, no sound. Tried compressing it, can't compress recorded tv. When I go in the compress menu, no recorded shows are in the list.

I can play DVDs without problems

I think a lot of the VMR probs are related to what video card is used. eg had no probs with a 7600gt, but running 6600gt or gf4 mx in the same machine have all sorts of video pauses, blank screens, system reboots on HD. tried with cyberlink and purevideo. Also MP often using 99% cpu and when crashed impossible to kill the task - sits there hogging 275MB ram.

Number one priority for MPII should be to bring back Hardware Overlay. Means better image quality, and much lower cpu requirments, at least with nvidia.
