Infos:
These Subversion-snaps are compiled at about 01.00h (CET).
You can also visit the official irc-channel (#mediaportal) to get a notice when its ready for download. The trigger !svn gives you the latest update too.
They are not pre-tested, so please use the backup option from time to time.
If you'd like the bleeding edge code and don't mind the inherent risks, upgrade to the snapshot releases as they become available.
If stability is important to you, you might want to stay with the fully-tested releases.

How to install MediaPortal SVN-Snapshots in short:

1) Install latest MediaPortal Release 0.2.2.0, not necessary if already done
2) install .NET Framework Version 2.0
3) Run the Snapshot-Installer. You should create a backup.
4) Run Configure. Sometimes the settings and database versions change from build to build, so you have to reconfigure your TV for example
5) Hopefully enjoy the new version
6) If not, restore your old files and you will have the former version back.

OK Call me stupid but I can't find tips on this any where else in the forums so Please Help.
I've got MP, SVN & TV Server working fine on an XP SP2 & MCE2005 boxes no problems there & love Media Portal.

But

On my brand new Vista machine the SVN's wont finish the install. Tried yesterday's & todays SVN both have the same issue.

Problem
When I run the SVN installer (using rick click run as administrator) with uac off the install seems to run through copying files. Then runs the start.bat script (well i believe that's what runs now registering all the *.ax files etc). Then Vista want's to do it's little calculating time remaining bit and gets to 317 items 27.3 MB copying from Temp to MediaPortal and there it stops with the status bar at 100% or as near as I can tell visually.

Minimise and Close buttons on calculating ... screen appear active but the only way out is to kill the SVN Snapshot Setup.

Then when I start MP the SVN date reads 3/04/2007 even though I've only tried installing the 4/04 & 5/04 SVN's.

A couple of details for trouble shooting
Machine: Dell 9200
OS: Vista Ultimate
MP 2.2
.NET 3.0 (I haven't "installed" .net 2.0 but I think mPod stated that 3.0 was equivalent and the 2.0 directories are there in the windows directories so.....)
User Access Control Off
Tried as "Administrator" or User with Admin access
Tried setting compatabilty to XP SP2 on Compatabilty tab.

Thanks in Advance for Any help you can give me.

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, try this...as the files are being copied, move the window of the installer. Its a bug with the file copying dialogue in vista. It DID finish updating, at least it does for me, but you can't see the window to confirm because the copy dialogue remains up as long as the installer is running. Your options are either to just press enter and default to leaving the "run setup after install" box checked, or move the window like I described above. If this ISN'T what you're referring to, honestly I'm not sure what the bug might be.

Thanks. Moving the screen worked a treat. Ok so I am stupid. Maybe it's just that I'm used to installers finishing rather than Vista giving me details I don't need stuffing up the install. LOL.

Thanks for the help.

No second tuner in diversity card

Hi !

I am using the Terratec Cinergy DT USB XS Diversity card (2 tuners). However, in Mediaportal only one tuner is available. See pic please. :)

In the application that comes with the card, I can change from diversity to dual tuner mode. I did not find any such setting in MP. There is no such setting available in the cards driver.

Would be great if this could be fixed/added !

Thanks,
Alex
