These Subversion-snaps are compiled at about 01.00h (CET).
You can also visit the official irc-channel (#mediaportal) to get a notice when its ready for download. The trigger !svn gives you the latest update too.
They are not pre-tested, so please use the backup option from time to time.
If you'd like the bleeding edge code and don't mind the inherent risks, upgrade to the snapshot releases as they become available.
If stability is important to you, you might want to stay with the fully-tested releases.

How to install MediaPortal SVN-Snapshots in short:

1) Install latest MediaPortal Release 0.2.2.0, not necessary if already done
2) install .NET Framework Version 2.0
3) Run the Snapshot-Installer. You should create a backup.
4) Run Configure. Sometimes the settings and database versions change from build to build, so you have to reconfigure your TV for example
5) Hopefully enjoy the new version
6) If not, restore your old files and you will have the former version back.

Mediaportal not working in Vista x64 after SVN MediaPortal-svn--04-01-2007--00-59-Rev

I've had this confirmed in this thread:

I've been away for most of the week and the last SVN snapshot I installed on my Vista x64 Ultimate machine was MediaPortal-svn--04-01-2007--00-59-Rev13729.

However, any SVN build after this instantly crashes, running either Configure.exe or MediaPortal.exe

Issue on Rev 13781

Hi,

I wanted to try the latest SVN and did so on clean install.

The first thing I wanted to try was the burner component.
I noticed still the same old problem of MP crashing near the start of the burn activity. (audio cd). All conversions to wav goes fine but the next step seems to fail.

I'll attach the log files for you to investigate if needed.

Problem with album cover in My Music

Steps to reproduce the error

1 - Goto My Music
2 - Set "View" to "Big Icons"
3 - Select any album and do a "Get Info"
4 - When the process is done, it'll show the info of the album, then press "Escape" to return to list of albums
5 - Now the cover of all the albums are gone, have to return to home and then enter again in My Music and all the cover appears.

Another thing I've seen in this svn.

If you pause / ffwd / frw / skip in a movie (mpg or recording) :

In windowed screen my screen starts flickering
In full screen the screen goes black during the called actions.

(Running on notebook Toshiba M30 - NVIDIA GeForce GO/FX 5200 -128 / 1Gb ram)
Note: 0.2.2.0 did run on it fine.

Hi,

In my music, the "album view" no longer works. I can select "album view in MP config, but when I enter my music I cannot browse my albums anymore. The grren highlight bar is stuck on the layout option. Everything works if I select "list" as the view type in the MP config. Also, when selecting the layout in MP my music, "big icon list" (= "album view") is no longer selectable, it just has "list" as 2 options in the layout options.

Please help as I always use the "album view" to browse albums.......

EDIT: If I change skin to green mepo album view works ok, so must be a skin issue with bluetwo and bluetwo wide?

I added the coverlist-view back to bluetwo now. Please try next svn-snapshot.

The playlist-view problem is code related and a known issue.
