Infos:
These Subversion-snaps are compiled at about 01.00h (CET).
You can also visit the official irc-channel (#mediaportal) to get a notice when its ready for download. The trigger !svn gives you the latest update too.
They are not pre-tested, so please use the backup option from time to time.
If you'd like the bleeding edge code and don't mind the inherent risks, upgrade to the snapshot releases as they become available.
If stability is important to you, you might want to stay with the fully-tested releases.

How to install MediaPortal SVN-Snapshots in short:

1) Install latest MediaPortal Release 0.2.2.0, not necessary if already done
2) install .NET Framework Version 2.0
3) Run the Snapshot-Installer. You should create a backup.
4) Run Configure. Sometimes the settings and database versions change from build to build, so you have to reconfigure your TV for example
5) Hopefully enjoy the new version
6) If not, restore your old files and you will have the former version back.

I have been using 0.2.2.0 with success and wanted to try the SVN version. Downloaded and installed MediaPortal-svn--05-02-2007--01-01-Rev14483.exe.

I got several problems running this version. It was impossible to tune my PVR-150MCE with it. Some channels worked but some didn't get a signal (e.g. SVT2 on my ComHem cable network). I tried all tuning options (automatic, manual etc.). All channels worked perfectly again as soon as I rolled back to 0.2.2.0 again.

Another problem was that I "got stuck" in several menus. There was no way to get up to the main menu after I had entered the TV sub-menu etc. This was not consistent but happened a couple of times in one hours testing. I am using a MCE remote and the receiver did receive the signal but I got the feeling that MP stopped responding to it at times.

I guess that was the most severe flaws that forced me to roll back to 0.2.2.0. Just wanted to report back to the developers.

Keep up the good work!

Don't know if it is limited to this build only because I updated from a January build.

This is regarding to IMDB lookup in MyVideos.
If IMDB autosearch finds an incorrect entry and I use the refresh button in MP to refresh the info, MP will continue to lookup the incorrect entry in IMDB instead of using the file name. So this makes it impossible to refresh to a correct entry.

    Example:
    1) TVGuide: is impossible to select option to change guideTV day (i must to use keyboard or mouse)
    2) VideoEditor: after selecting the operation to do (dvr-ms to mpeg, mpeg to divx, etc.....) is impossible to select file to menage, i must use keyboard or mouse.
    3) and any similar problems.

Up to now IRTrans remote always worked very fine
