Infos:
These Subversion-snaps are compiled at about 01.00h (CET).
You can also visit the official irc-channel (#mediaportal) to get a notice when its ready for download. The trigger !svn gives you the latest update too.
They are not pre-tested, so please use the backup option from time to time.
If you'd like the bleeding edge code and don't mind the inherent risks, upgrade to the snapshot releases as they become available.
If stability is important to you, you might want to stay with the fully-tested releases.

How to install MediaPortal SVN-Snapshots in short:

1) Install MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 RC1, not necessary if already done
2) install .NET Framework Version 2.0
3) Run the Snapshot-Installer. You should create a backup.
4) Run Configure. Sometimes the settings and database versions change from build to build, so you have to reconfigure your TV for example
5) Hopefully enjoy the new version
6) If not, restore your old files and you will have the former version back.

Important notice: The backup function wont work for Vista atm, here you need to save your configuration manually. A rewrite is planned but will take some more time for testing.

Channel does not change

Hi,

Just installed this SVN and the latest TVEngine but the now the TV does not change channel. This occurs using the TV Guide or using the Channel option from the MyTV screen.

Possibly related, is that getting the info up (pressing 'y') reports that i'm watching live-01.ts (not the usually channel information) and the actions menu doesn't have many actions.

Well, i do tell a lie, I can change channels if I stop the TV (pressing stop on the remote, as turning the TV off has no effect either) and then select another channel.

While i'm at it :) , pressing enter on the TV Fullscreen no longer brings up the little TV Channel selector thing.

cheers,

Trent

PS. i'd would attach logs, but nothing jumped out at me. If required let me know which ones to attach

Have you updated both. Mediaportal AND the TvPlugin?
If not, please do it and try again

I've the same problem as Lewi0146.

I've installed the svn for MediaPortal aswell as the TVEngine svn. When I go to My TV there is only one channel that I can watch and it's not possible to change the channel or to turn on the TV.

hmmm, my intention was to update both (well, all, TvServer, TvPlugin, and MediaPortal). Just to make sure I un/reinstalled the TvPlugin and it made no difference (i tried both the current SVN I have and the previous with the same result). I'm thinking maybe it's a TvServer problem??!? But I don't really no, just guessing.

In the meantime, i'll reinstall the TvServer to the previous working version and see if channel changing works again.

I note that in the changelog gibman made a change to the "channel changing" could this be causing the problem

On a side note, is there an easy way to check which TvServer and TvPlugin is installed?

    cheers,

    Trent

    hmmm, now i'm confused!

I uninstalled the TvServer and TvPlugin and installed a previous version that was working for me (tvengine3-06-18-2007--01-27h--Rev14915). BUT, channel changing still doesn't work!!

Maybe it's something else? Is there some sort of cache that needs clearing for the TvServer or the TvPlugin. I'll keep investigating, maybe there's something else I may have changed during my upgrade process.

Hmmm, me so confused. All i can hear is my wife saying, "...why did you have to changed it, it was already working!"

    Hi,

Had the problem too... i restore a backup of mediaportal and keep the latest tvengine and plugin. it seems like it is a problem of the latest svn.

    bye :)

Just been playing with this, it seems the problem is with MP SVN 14970 - installing this version stops TV3 from being able to change channels, easily spotted as the 'TV On' indicates off when TV is On!?

I have TV3 SVN 14970 working with MP SVN 14957 with no problems - tried TV3 SVNs back to 14932 and none work with MP SVN 14970.
