Infos:
These Subversion-snaps are compiled at about 01.00h (CET).
You can also visit the official irc-channel (#mediaportal) to get a notice when its ready for download. The trigger !svn gives you the latest update too.
They are not pre-tested, so please use the backup option from time to time.
If you'd like the bleeding edge code and don't mind the inherent risks, upgrade to the snapshot releases as they become available.
If stability is important to you, you might want to stay with the fully-tested releases.

How to install MediaPortal SVN-Snapshots in short:
1) Install MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 RC2, not necessary if already done
2) install .NET Framework Version 2.0
3) Run the Snapshot-Installer. You should create a backup.
4) Run Configure. Sometimes the settings and database versions change from build to build, so you have to reconfigure your TV for example
5) Hopefully enjoy the new version
6) If not, restore your old files and you will have the former version back.

Important notice: The backup function wont work for Vista atm, here you need to save your configuration manually. A rewrite is planned but will take some more time for testing.

    Still no album-arts displayed.
When highlighting a song within an album, the album-art is displayed, but not for the album.

    Using X-face. (Off course:))

(Perhaps this is wrong thread, since album-art changes where done in prev. SVN)

Spragleknas: Album art works great(especially in X-face) over here with this svn.. It started working again several SVN's ago. I had my media files rescanned from configuration after I cleared the thumbs folder (also from configuration). This helped for me.

I've tested this SVN and I get correct album covers in all views.

There are two ways, for mp, to get the cover for you.

    1. built in to the mp3 file id3 tag (only seen in song mode)
    2. a folder.jpg(orgif...) in the album directory. This info is shown in all other views

the best way to get correct folder.jpg files is to go inte the setup pgm and go to music->database. mark the box "create missing folder.jpg...) and run a music db rebuild

    Thanks for replying.

Arn01805: This did not work for me

    Karlake:
Opt 1 is OK; highlighting the song and i can see the albumart

Opt 2: Tried what you said, ut no pics in musicfolders (ie E:\My Music\Amy Winehouse-Back to Black)
    The cache is full, though...: ( C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Thumbs\Music\Albums )

(... and yes, I have enabled the "show hidden (etc.)"-feature :))

EDIT: "run a music db rebuild" = rescan - right?

    EDIT2:
OK - got it going. Not quite sure how, I am afraid. But I did delete all albumart is the thumbs-folder, rescanned db, found albumart w/Audioscrobbler. Also played around with settings in setup-> music -> database

Last EDIT: All good with latest SVN (see below)

    Hey Spragleknas

10/10/2007 [13:12h] rtv added: fixed: Music DB scan added thumbnails which filenames were not cleaned and therefore could not be found afterwards (Please delete all thumbs and your MusicDatabaseV10.db3 + rescan your collection)

Check changelog Issue on db scan
Can be why your db scan did not work

SVN later then that should fix it

I agree with this model, the number 1 thing I would like to see from mediaportal is more stable releases :D
