Infos:
These Subversion-snaps are compiled at about 01.00h (CET).
You can also visit the official irc-channel (#mediaportal) to get a notice when its ready for download. The trigger !svn gives you the latest update too.
They are not pre-tested, so please use the backup option from time to time.
If you'd like the bleeding edge code and don't mind the inherent risks, upgrade to the snapshot releases as they become available.
If stability is important to you, you might want to stay with the fully-tested releases.

How to install MediaPortal SVN-Snapshots in short:
1) Install MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 RC2, not necessary if already done
2) install .NET Framework Version 2.0
3) Run the Snapshot-Installer. You should create a backup.
4) Run Configure. Sometimes the settings and database versions change from build to build, so you have to reconfigure your TV for example
5) Hopefully enjoy the new version
6) If not, restore your old files and you will have the former version back.

Important notice: The backup function wont work for Vista atm, here you need to save your configuration manually. A rewrite is planned but will take some more time for testing.

    Strange, I updated both MP and TV3 to the latest SVN at the same time, though the SVN versions were not the same revision, TV3 being the lower, but was the latest.

    I tried both live TV and recorded TV (recorded previous day and SVN versions), it seems to error with an audio issue while creating the graph.

    These 3 lines from the error log

    2007-10-14 21:26:10.101750 [ERROR][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:exception while creating DShow graph Nullpointer input not allowed ( IAudioStream ) at MediaPortal.Player.TSReaderPlayer.GetInterfaces(String filename)
    2007-10-14 21:26:10.101750 [ERROR][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer:GetInterfaces() failed
    2007-10-14 21:26:10.242375 [ERROR][MPMain]: PlaylistPlayer: *** unable to play - E:\RecordedTV\Grand Designs-Channel 4\Grand Designs--2007-10-14-17_15.ts - skipping track!

    The change log shows a change went in ref DVB/Audio channel selection and had to update MP and TV3 server/plugin, which is what I did.

    Will try again when I get home with the latest SVNs and report back.

    Thanks

    Well, it sure seems like you are using an older (wrong) vers. of tsreader.ax.

    try and reregister the filter ...
    from commandline run ;
    regsvr32 <path>\tsreader.ax

    Could u plz post the following info on tsreader.ax
    file size (in bytes)
    date of creation, last modified.

    On a sidenote; I have already been contacted by one user confirming the "new audio track selection" feature working.

    Version details of tsreader.ax are

    Created & Modified Date : 09 Oct 2007 21:33:16380,928 bytes

    Reinstalled MP, TV3 & tvplugin and still got the same file.

    Just installed the latest SVNs and all is now ok, so guess must have picked up the wrong tsreader.ax somewhere.

    Thanks for responding

    Trevor
