Mediaportal takes a long time to load (1 Viewer)

I've done a complete uninstall and reinstall and I'm still experiencing extremely slow loading of both Mediaportal and the configuration tool. It seems to be when it hits the loading windows plugin section of the load and takes 3-5 minutes to complete.

I installed yesterday and, things were working OK with the basic application. I added the Streramed Media Portal skin and configured TV series, and then things started to go wrong. I then did a complete uninstall and went back to the basic layout. I've got the standard blue skin and it takes 3-5 minutes to load.

OMG i fixed it!!!

Last month my 3 year old rammed somethign into the DVD drive and it doesn't work.

With my DVD drive closed MP takes 3 minutes to load, with it open it takes about 3 seconds
