MediaPortal / TV Server Implementation Overview Questions (1 Viewer)

I've been reviewing as much information as I could, but am still unclear on a couple of issues. I recently setup a new Dell "Media Server" attached to the living room tv via HDMI. Original intent was to watch movies that are stored on hard drives. For the most part, that works great.

Now I am thinking about installing a tv card w/ tv server so that it can be accessed from other computers throughout the home.

Here is what I would ultimately like to do:

Watch TV from all computers
Watch movies on TV attached directly to the server
Watch movies from all computers on the network​

What pieces (software) would be needed on each computer to accomplish this?

Hi, welcome

The most basic option:
PC1
Media Server & TV Cards
Install MP client and server

PC2+
Access media on PC1 via Windows shares
Install MP client and Tv plugin. see Advanced Installation - MediaPortal Wiki

More complicated option is to set it up to share a central database for media as well. NOTE that is is not a recommended route since many people reported corrupt databases when multiple clients access same database at same time.
