MediaPortal won't go away!! (1 Viewer)

Doing certain things puts MediaPortal in a state where you can 'Exit' from the file menu, but it really doesn't go away (even though the window closes).

While in MyTV, I tried doing 'fullscreen' and basically MP just freezes but the menu is still responsive & I can choose File->Exit. The window will close, but in taskmanager, it's still running. Another scenario is when I just tried to see how recording works and I hit the record-now button and it froze (even though I could still 'exit' using the File->Exit menuitem).

Nothing will kill MP (not taskmanager, not pstools' pskill, not kill.exe, not tskill.exe). They all say process X (where X is MP's PID) succesfully killed and the like, but it's still active in taskmanager with the same PID (tells you it didn't respawn itself) (and yes the taskmanager windows is refreshing). I also cannot shutdown when MediaPortal is in this state (have to hold down the power button [ouch] or hit the reset button). So, how can I kill MediaPortal?

Note: if I don't enter that state mentioned above (for example if I went to MyTV, changed a couple channels, then went back to the home screen, and exited from there, MP does close gracefully).

System is MP 0.2.0.0, Windows XP SP2, eVGA NVTV single-tuner card. Has S-Video, RF Coaxial, and FM Coaxial antenna inputs. I have my cabletv line & FM connected to it.

Before you ask...

fresh installs, no plugins, nothing special.

Im surprised TV even works, a Geforce 256 is what the first of its range. Probably what a DX6 card? (Minimum requirements are DX8.1 and recommended DX9)
