Doing the same process with another DVD also gave me the mencoder error, this time I closed Mediaportal and noticed an auto run window and wondered if that might the cause. Anyway, last night I tried another DVD which also gave me the mencoder error, I closed down MP and there was just the windows desktop; so I took remote control of the PC and started MP, slected medaislayer and it all worked as expected, i.e. I got to choose the artwork and which audio option.So I'm leaning towards that the culprit might be my remote control - I'll try a dvd tonight that has failed in the past but using remote control and see if that works first time.</blockquote>
