Ok, a few things. Because of the issues I was having trying to rip, I decided to uninstall MP and start from scratch COMPLETELY. WOW!! After uninstalling, blowing away all directories that were left behind, I re-installed MP, monochrome, shoutcast, and media slaer. Went through the entire configuration again for MP. I went to configure media slayer so I could choose the internal ISO ripper, but it still wasn't there. (now here comes the hint for all) So I went back and read some more stuff. I learned it was not there. That option ONLY shows up in the advanced gui mode. I wish it was not there because I don't want my 6 and 8 year old to have access to that stuff. It was fine having it in the settings under media portal configuration. Set it once and be done with it. Also, on this fresh install, I still can't rip!!! I put in a DVD, it brings up the question asking if I want to change the name, and I say yes. No virtual keyboard shows up, and the only way I can get out of the thing is to do a hard reset of the box. I am still looking through the logs. I am getting a TON of directx errors in my log file. I want to eliminate those before I post any logs about this. Fixing Directx may fix my issues. But could we move the internal\external ripper choice back to settings. have it both places if possible. I just don't like my kids having access to the advanced gui. they mess up enough stuff as it is.
