Hey folks,

I'm new to this product, i just downloaded it 3 days ago. I love the software, its easy to use but i'm having one problem that is getting really frustrating.

I have the folders set up as i would a dvd (aka Video_TS and Audio_TS folders under the folder. my vob's are in the video_ts folder. As soon as click the, lets say "Batman Returns" it takes me to the begining of the dvd (the copyright protection and previews) when i let the dvd play through, its fine until it gets to the main menu. Then all of a sudden the screen goes grey. I have sound and all that jazz but no picture. I thought that maybe it was something with my computer so i switched it to my other computer that is a P4 2.8 with a nvidia 6200 GT 1.5 gig of memory and still the same problem....the only way around this is to right click before it gets to the main menu and select root menu. But i would rather not do this because i enjoy the previews.

My other question, is there anyway to get this to read the Nero digital files that have embedded chapters and no menu?

    Hi,

what codecs did you set for DVD playback?
Does this happen to all DVDs or just some?
Does resize help (bring the picture back), if you run MP in windowed mode?
I have a similar issue with some DVDs (screen is going black on menu).

You may play with some different codec settings.

    HTH, Flip.

    hhmm

What codecs are you talking about? I have tried both the 1.3 and 2.0 versions thinking that maybe it was the versions i was using but to avail...same problems with both versions....am i missing something here maybe?

And again...is there anyways to get the nero digital/mp4 files to work with the embedded chapters? I could use that if push comes to shove.

    Hi,

a PC needs a codec to playback DVDs (and other media).
You can set the codec in Configure->DVD->DVD Codec

Depending on your MP version and third party DVD software you can set following:
    Video: MPEG2Dec - MPV - DScaler - InterVideo - CyberLink
    Audio: MPEG/DTS/AC3/ - MPA - DScaler - InterVideo - CyberLink
    Navigator: DVD Navigator

The bold ones are recommended, but only available in latest SVN. The underlined one, should work ok. But again, you have to play around with these settings.

Sorry, no experience with Nero. Therefore no answer...

    Flip.

Thanks for the help. I'll check into that. If anyone else knows about the nero thing let me know...that would be most helpful. Or should i just start a new topic
