hi,

i ripped my dvds in ifo,vob and bup files to the hdd. the extras are encoded in mpeg4 and muxed in mkv. i can merge the video_ts.ifo and the mkv to one playlist with moving picture, but only the main movie will be played. the mkv will be ignored. after the end of the movie, mp jumps back to the moving picture-menu. is it possible to merge the video_ts.ifo and the mkv? i want to play der mkv after the end of the main movie.

muxing the main movie in mkv would be hard work. i've ripped 300 movies :D

You can 'abuse' the multi-part system, "Movie Title CD1.mkv" and "Movie Title CD2.mkv" will be automatically put back to back and played as 'one' during import. This can also be done manually via the Movie Details 'File Menu' (the drop down box), as well as change the order there.

this is exactly what doesn't work. i can import the if and the mkv to the playlist, but only the ifo will be played. media portal ignores the mkv. after played the movie it jumps back to the menu.

Just making a guess here, but it is probably caused by the difference in filetypes, as DVD navigator and such comes into play for the IFO file. You can try to HandBrake convert the DVD into an MKV file as well (no transcoding required, so it can go realy fast) and see if they will both play then.
