Hi there,

I am looking into building a HTPC with mediaportal. I have an extensive movie library on my NAS hard drive already and I am wondering whether there is a plugin/program that will scan through my media folders and find metadata (Director, Producer, Synopsis etc - not too extensive, just the basics) that is compatible with mediaportal??

any help would be much appreciated.

Mediaportal has an internal Videos view, which will gather such information. In addition there are 2 movie plugins:
MovingPictures: For the more comfort minded user, scans data using different grabber skripts.
MyFilms: For the more experienced / perfectionist user, can integrate into things like the ANT catalog.

(for TV series there is a series plugin, maybe also of interest)
